General Information

Please note that this Privacy Policy may be updated frequently.

Welcome to LawKoala. LawKoala and lawkoala.com are collectively referred to as "LawKoala." At LawKoala, we appreciate the trust you place in us when you choose to visit our website and we take that responsibility seriously. This LawKoala Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use personal information about you when you visit our website.

Your continued use of LawKoala constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any updates.

What Information We Collect

Contact information, such as your name or email address when you make a purchase from us;

Purchase information, such as the items you purchase, payment method and payment information (please note that payment method and payment information is handled via Gumroad [discussed below]), and contact information (such as for receipts or order updates);

Device and browsing information, including information about your phone, tablet, computer, or device, and online browsing activity (collectively, "automatically collected information"). Like most website operators, LawKoala collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available. Automatically collected information may include IP addresses, unique device identifiers, cookie identifiers, device and browser settings and information, and Internet service provider information. Automatically collected information also may include information about when and how you access and use our website, such as the date and time of your visit or use, the websites you visit before coming and after leaving our website, how you navigate and what you search for using our website, the website pages and items you view using our website, and the items you purchase.

How We Collect Information

We collect information on our website. We also obtain information from you and from third parties. Specifically, we collect and obtain information:

You provide, such as when you make a purchase or contact us, or sign up for emails or marketing;

From using automatic collection methods. For example, we and third parties we work with may collect information from the computer, tablet, phone, or other device: that you use to access our website; or that you use to open an email from us. This collection includes automatically collected information, and generally does not include personal information unless you provide it through our website or you choose to share it with us. Methods we may use include:

- website log files (which we tend to create automatically in connection with access to and use of our website); and

- other technologies (which may be similar to or different than the methods noted above).

From anonymous analytics using Plausible Analytics. On LawKoala, we only use the Plausible Analytics script that allows us to collect analytics information in order to gain insight about our visitors in general. We do not store analytical cookies on your device. Plausible Analytics does not track individual users and does not store any personally identifiable information that could be linked with a particular individual. Go to their documentation to find out what Plausible Analytics collects (and more importantly what they don't). Instead of a cookie with a unique user ID, Plausible Analytics simply counts the number of unique IP addresses that access LawKoala to determine the visitor count. To further enhance user privacy, Plausible Analytics does not store the raw visitor IP address in database or log files. Plausible Analytics runs the IP address through a one-way hash function to scramble the raw IP addresses and make them impossible to recover.
